Unite the Union Band recently joined forces with the Sheffield University Band at the magnificent Firth Hall in Sheffield for a concert that celebrated the start of what both organisations hope will be an innovative partnership

Unite Chairman, John Lee has worked very closely with Greg Waters who recently lead the Sheffield University band, which was only formed last October, to a wonderful result at the National Uni Brass Championships.
Retention
John told 4BR: "Sheffield has a world leading university in engineering, research and the sciences and has the highest retention of students leaving University and staying than any other city."
Build
He added: "Sheffield has also recently been voted the happiest place to live in Britain. All these factors will lead to many of the talented musicians staying in city—and this great partnership hopes to build on that."
