Euphonium virtuoso David Childs will be one of the star attractions at this weekend's Festival of Brass in Cambridge - helping to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Euphonium star David Childs is set to play his part to help raise funds for Cancer Research UK this weekend, when he performs alongside the trombone group Bones Apart and other artistes in Cambridge.
Festival of Brass
The ‘Festival of Brass’ hopes to raise over £5,000 for the charity this Sunday at the West Road Concert Hall, by also including performances from local bands Hadstock Silver and Haverill Silver as well as the tuba quartet TUBE.
The next generation of brass players are also being encouraged to attend with the inclusion of a free workshop for brass players of any age taking place during the day.
Motivation
Dr Lisa Jardine-Wright told 4BR: "Our motivation for this event is strongly linked to the brass bands performing in the concert. They have recent experience of a number of members and their close relatives suffering from cancer."
She added: "We are delighted to welcome David to Cambridge and everyone is so excited about hearing him perform.
We have gained wonderful support from the performers and our sponsors, and we are sure everyone will have a wonderful time and enjoy some great music making—all for the benefit of a charity that undertakes such amazing work."

Tickets are on sale at the Arts Theatre Box Office at £12(adults), £9 (students and OAPs), £6 (16 and under) and this price includes the brass workshop.
